white rose bridal bouquets...

so one of my favorite parts of my wedding weekend was when my bridal party and mom and I made our bouquets for the wedding. so it should be no surprise that one of my favorite parts of tiff and josh's wedding was when we got together the day before the wedding and made the bridal party bouquets - they were white roses and just so perfect and simple....

aren't the beautiful? I love the simplicity behind the all white bouquet and the roses - I love it. so that was it, that was our last wedding of 2011 - and believe it or not we currently don't have any weddings on deck for 2012 - I don't know that we'll be going to any 2012 weddings but I have a feeling 2013 will be a busy year for us..... we have a lot of friends on the "brink" of getting engaged [at least in my opinion, which clearly is always right] so I'm thinking we'll be clear for 2012 and busy for 2013... fingers crossed considering baby j will be joining us in the spring and travels will definitely be limited for 2012!

tiff & josh's wedding...

last weekend I had the great honor of marrying two people who are very near and dear to my heart. the wedding (and whole weekend) was a perfect reflection of who they are and their love for one another. I already shared a run down of our weekend and their rehearsal dinner.  next came the wedding day, the ceremony and reception were at Balcony at Dock in Wilmington and Tiff and Josh had so many personalized DIY touches that made the wedding so special and so them. Such an amazing day celebrating great friends and great love.

here are some of my favorite shots of the day...

love. love. love.
it was such an honor to be the one that married them and words can't describe how happy I am for those two, their love is truly special and they are such a great pair!

st pete recap...

so here's the st. pete recap... which honestly isn't too exciting because I didn't take nearly enough pictures... the flight from atlanta to tampa wasn't too bad and we landed and got our rental car -- the man behind the counter at budget was "nice enough" to upgrade us.... what did he upgrade us to... oh yes. grandma's car --
we were driving around in true florida style... grandma style. DJ kept telling everyone he was borrowing his grandpa's car -- he thought it was really funny... I on the other hand, got over the joke real quick. other than the sunset pictures I already shared I sucked at taking pictures -- I did get some of all of  us at the wedding on saturday night...

DJ had a great time with his fraternity brothers and I had a fun time laughing at them all... It was also amusing to hear grown men call each other by their college nicknames. good times all around.

sunday and monday we spent with my mom and had some great food, relaxing times and just caught up. I also realized I didn't take one picture of my mom/with my mom all weekend. I'm the worst.  we did help  her pick out a new laptop and set it up so I feel like I get some good daughter points there [when in reality DJ did most of the work, so he just gets son-in-law points]. It's so refreshing to me and relieving to see how amazing DJ and my mom get along - she has never had anything negative to say about him [which is rare with my mother] and I'm pretty sure she loves him more than me [but he is the nicer one in our pair so I can't really blame her]. anyways, all in all a great trip with great friends and a fun time catching up with my mom. I'm so excited to be back in Wilmington in ONE week to celebrate our last wedding of 2011 [yay tiff & josh!] and to catch up with lots of friends... I'm not going to lie, I'm also looking forward to this weekend of doing nothing [first weekend in almost two months that we're not traveling somewhere - crazy].

...in completely unrelated news, it's 10:40am and I've already eaten all of my lunch. be jealous.

the dirty jerz recap...

well vaca [aka the weekend of gluttony] last week was a blast, great time with my love and family and lots of relaxation [and eating and drinking]. we spent the first two days in NJ where we enjoyed some downtime [and free meals/booze] with family at a great rehearsal dinner and wedding... I also might have drank my weight in bellenis hence reinforcing that they are in fact now in the running to be my favorite drink [don't worry Jack + Diet, I still love you]
also, I learned that you know the wedding is going to be a fun one when they pass champagne before the wedding ceremony... you know it's bound to get interesting when you've drank 3-4 of these said glasses of champagne before the wedding ceremony... LASTLY you know it's bound to get messy when you're married to a man who thinks its a good idea to take multiple tequila shots at the reception... here are the pictures from the wedding where I don't have a lazy eye [or at least its not as visable]... what you didn't think I was going to show you the bad ones did you?*

...and the best picture from our NJ experience...
gotta love those guidos guys.

*I apologize in advance, there will be no pictures of our Jersey fist-pumping  shown on this blog as I have come to learn this is not a good look...
I blame the fist-pumping not the jack or tequila....

say yes to the dress: bridesmaids

if you've been a bridesmaid you know the all the "fun" that is the bridesmaids dress... now, personally, I have to say I've been quite lucky - I actually liked the both the dresses in the weddings I've been in!

lindsey & phil's wedding 6/27/09....

kelly & erik's wedding 2/27/10...

and seriously, my bridesmaids cannot complain, their dresses were adorable, had pockets, oh and did I mention they were like $60 on sale at white house black market [no altering!] - I know, I'm the best bride ever.
and yes, great minds think alike... lindsey, kelly and I were all nice brides with the extremely re-wearable black bridesmaids dresses! now onto the horrors... there are some not so great bridesmaids dresses out there...

there are no words for this mess...

oh man, I'm scared to even think about what the guys are wearing? orange overalls anyone?
go vols? go tigers? your call.

come on, you can't talk about bridesmaids dresses without a 27 dresses reference [which I really want to watch now!]

someecards never disappoints...

Idoaroo...

we went to an amazing wedding this past weekend, we camped out in Marsheville, NC at "Idoaroo" - our friends Ashli and Justin had a music festival/bonaroo/camping outdoors wedding - it captured their personalities and love so perfectly and magically!  Ashli worked for me her last two years of college and started dating Justin [again] right around that time, so  I've seen their relationship grow tremendously over the past few years... but they have a similar tale to DJ and I [they dated in middle school, aah young love] and then had an off and on thing through high school/college and now they are maaarrried. ah, so sweet.

we are so happy for our dear friends and their wedding was so them. complete with hippy dancing, hula hoops, flower fairies, camping [yes, I camped - be proud] and filled with love!

here are some of my favorite pictures of their beautiful wedding in Marsheville, NC....

not pictured: camping, rain, fireworks, moonshine, dance parties, late night laughs, new friends, kegstands [ahem Jigga] and yeah we'll leave it at that.

thanks to ashli & justin for an amazing weekend filled with love!

wedding reception details!

I know, it's just what you wanted - more wedding pictures/details. Don't worry, I'm almost done - I'll do a real post soon... I just have a lot swimming around in this head of mine and I'm trying to get together before I write about it, so for now - more fun pictures of the wedding! I am so happy with how our reception decor/details came together... We knew from the beginning that we wanted it to be bright and fun and I think I just LOVED it all....

When you walked upstairs from the ceremony we had a table with everyone's table assignments, the guestbook, framed pictures of DJ and I, and some fun party favors... we weren't going to do a guestbook but then I saw this post on Perpetually Engaged and decided that Nikki's idea was perfect for DJ and I so I ordered this book from amazon...

We decided to do black tableclothes and bright colored napkins on the tables along with those we had black, gold and silver NYE party favors and some silver ornaments and of course - our goldfish centerpieces....
We also decided not to do a head table and to have a sweetheart table, it was nice because we were able to sit down and have our dinner together and have a little bit of time for "us" before we started making our rounds. Once the "dancing" portion of the evening started the table was broken down and moved for more dancing room but I'm glad we were able to sit together for a bit (and eat, duh).

wasn't that fun? :)
