dogeared deal on groupon...

Isn't groupon amazing? even if they don't have it in your city, they have great online deals so I reccommend jumping on that bandwagon [ASAP]

speaking of online deals, if you're a fan of dogeared [like I am] - then you'll love this groupon....

$25 for $50 worth of jewelry at Dogeared Jewels & Gifts... now let's be honest - that will get you one necklace - and I'm way too cheap to spend $50 on one, but still, $25.00 for a dogeared necklace ain't too shabby... good quality, simple and uber cute.  I already bought a groupon and bought this necklace...

...the deal runs until Friday, let's hoping I can last that long without buying another one!

I mean how cute is this, it wants to be sent to my house...

...and every girl wants [and needs] good karma...

which are your favorites?
happy shopping!

flo-rida

DJ and I are heading to Florida tomorrow night
[that is if tornadoes stay away]
can't wait to see old friends and have some quality time with my mom.
crazy to think that this will be the first time we're going to Florida as a "married couple"
I cannot wait to go through our pictures from high school...
don't worry, I'll bring some back to share.
like this gem...

oh, I love my silly man.
happy wednesday pups!

2000 cans of peas anyone?

remember that time DJ asked me if we could spend
$1500-$2000 on canned food?
you know, because the world is going to end.
[I guess this could look good in my living room...]

no but seriously, he really did ask that.
but not because of 2012... because food prices are increasing.
I then made fun of him for stressing over life and reading the news too much.
he then said I wasn't going to be laughing when we were the only people with food...
touche.
I do get cranky when I don't eat.

so, let me know if you're interested in contributing to a canned food drive...
you know, to feed the hippies and my husbands paranoia...

all I know, is I have dibs on the canned corn.
the spam is all his.

happpppppppppy birthday to my lovie...

today is a very special day - 9 months until my birthday yay - it's DJ's birthday!

happy birthday to the sweetest boy man I know...

to jigga...

the giver of the sweetest kisses around...

an amazing [tri]athlete...

who stole my heart when I was a mere 17...

who I would climb a mountain for...

he's the best puppy daddy out there...

who will one day be a great dad...

he clearly has amazing fashion sense...

and terrible taste in football...

I love him so much that I vowed to love him for all eternity...

not once, but TWICE...

happy birthday to my soulmate, my partner in crime, the ying to my yang, the man who can piss me off more than no other and push my buttons like the best of them.  I wouldn't want to spend the rest of my life, let alone one day with anyone else by my side. we truly were made for each other and I cannot even begin to express how thankful I am to have you in my life.

happy birthday to my favorite person in the whole wide world...
my sweet husband - my Danny J.

I love you babycakes...
here's to a great birthday, a great year
and a lifetime of celebrations together.

88, my love.

tail wagging tuesday... ollie's toys!

I'm linking up again this week with CMae's Tail Wagging Tuesday - this week's topic is your pet's favorite toy... this is a tough one because Ollie really does love toys and he plays with almost ALL of them... here are some of his favorites though...

when he was a wee pup, he loved to play with his rope-toy...

then the nylabone... which disappeared in the move...

then he got greedy and wouldn't share...

now it's the blue ball and his pink lady...

we just bought him a new "green pretzel" this weekend which is quickly becoming a fav, but unfortunately I haven't snapped a picture of him with it yet!

I know...
spoiled rotten.
go check out the rest of the pups favorite toys here!

Target Tuesday [Link-up]

so DJ and I went to target last night to grab a few odds and ends and of course, I dragged him to the shoe department because I [desperately] need brown flats/sandals and low and behold I see this beautiful shoe begging me to try it on... [it looks nicer in person, the picture doesn't do it justice]
adorable, and only for $24.99

...so I try them on and I'm smitten and do you know what my impatient and cranky loving husband said - they're not brown, no. let's go. I tried the "they have brown in them angle" but he wasn't budging.

I'm really sad because I don't have my own car or debit card to go back and get them when I'm alone....

oh wait...
I DO

yeah buster, I'm going back for those shoes AND some brown flats/sandals. [hope you enjoyed that little glimpse into my marriage...]

anyways, back to target... here are some other things I am loving on this glorious Target Tuesday...

if my husband doesn't start being nicer to me...
I just might buy them all... happy shopping puppies!

[juust kidding, DJ - I love you and our bank account, I won't buy everything.. just the shoes!]

join in the fun and link-up with Tara @ fabulous but evil!

birthday cake update...

I made the cake
no one was harmed.
I did forget to buy candy for the cookie cakes.
DJ only cried a little...
but we improvised...

I made the cookie cakes with this recipe [except we used 2 9 inch pans and had to bake it for 28 minutes] - it was super yummy, but if I were to do it again, I would use a different recipe because these were very cakey rather than like big cookies... either way, they sure were good! Also, DJ [the expert on everything, juuust kidding love you honey] said that he would have frozen the cakes before putting the ice cream on to avoid any melt [see picture 2]. Nonetheless, the cake was a success and very yummy!

Like I said earlier, I forgot to buy the candy (M&Ms, Butterfinger, and Reeses Cups) but my mother-in-law came to the rescue with her "top of the cabinet hidden candy reserve" - we made one layer with a chocolate chip cookie cake, one with heath bar bits and crunch bars, and one with reeses peanut butter cups. I also forgot [I was having a flakey day, don't judge me] to get bacon - so we melted chocolate and heated up bacon bits and mixed them together [it was damn good, weird- I know].

so here's what we ended up making...
the cake turned out lovely...

until it started meeelting...

yup - it was a big OLE mess! but you know, the birthday boy liked it and that's all that matters...

and next year, for his 30th birthday...
he's going to love the publix cake that I buy him. ;)

DJ's birthday cake AKA why did I even ask?

so I made the mistake of asking DJ earlier this week "what kind of birthday cake do you want?" - I mean, clearly, I'm a sweet wife and I was going to go to publix and buy bake him a cake from scratch... so DJ's response was that he wanted a cookie & ice cream cake... then I was a flake and I forgot and I asked him again and I got much clearer instructions....

he wants a layered cake of cookies and ice cream - something like this....
and of course, he's being super supportive about it and understanding that it might not turn out the way he wants...

 I'm tackling this monstrosity today...
wish me luck.
clearly, I need it.

one year ago...

I [really] wanted a puppy.
DJ wanted an english bulldog puppy [none other would do]
I thought he was crazy, but whatever.
I bitched and moaned until I realized he wasn't changing his mind compromised
so I went along with it...

first there was massive amounts of research and scouring the web...
then there were emails...

THEN one year ago was a life-changing day for DJ & I... we drove about an hour from our house to visit with a family in CT who had one English Bulldog puppy left for sale.... our hearts were stolen the minute we met little Oliver...

the whole litter of puppies were super sweet and just adorable, but when they got let out to play one came over and sat right in DJ's lap... he was just content being with us while the others ran around the yard... as luck would be - that was the one puppy that was still for sale, and the one puppy that stole our heart...

I mean, how could you  not fall in love with this face...

we got home and had this email waiting for us...

we just knew we had to make it work, and we did - and I couldn't be happier with our sweet baby boy....

I love my little partner in crime....

what a snugglebug...
[and I clearly love sweatpants as captured by these photos...]

I can't believe we met our little Ollie only a year ago, I can't imagine life without him now... and though I will rarely admit it - DJ was right, an english bulldog was the best fit for our lifestyle and my "wants" in a dog [sweetness, cuddles, lovable, etc], but not just any bullie - our sweet OJ [aka "the juice" - and yes that is his middle name on his AKC registration, I shit you not].  so here's to many healthy years ahead of us [and hopefully soon, allergy free] and our sweet baby boy.
sweet baby Oliver...
thanks for the butt-wiggles, the kisses, the cuddles
I love you all the time
[even when you try and eat my bras and think my shoes are chew-toys]
you're the sweetest baby boy and I can't imagine life without you!

sweet valley confidential... what? what???

did anyone else obsess over read the sweet valley high series?
seriously. I owned all of them. every. single. book.

I changed my mind daily over if I wanted to be Elizabeth or Jessica... seriously. I almost want to reread that series [remember, I'm a tween].

and then there was the tv show...
which I also loved.

and now -- there's a NEW Sweet Valley book! Sweet Valley Confidential...

oh the irony...

so I decided to clean out my gmail inbox [over 4,000 emails, really? not necessary] and I stumbled upon this gem of an email that I sent three years ago [almost to the day] to two of my friends from high school...

I would have laughed in your face if you told me that his engagement would be broken off in the next year, that my [at the time current] boyfriend and I would break up, and that I'd end up married to "Danny J" less than two years later.

life sure is funny, wonderful, but funny.

what I'm loving wednesday...

happy wednesday! hope you're having a fabulous week and that it's flying by... mine is - I thought for a moment it was tuesday this morning only to smile and realize it's WEDNESDAY - which means my work week is halfway over!

here's what I'm loving on this beautiful spring day...

I'm loving.... that last night DJ and I spent like thirty minutes laughing hysterically and "fighting" aka roughhousing... it's so much fun being married to your best friend [even if he does steal my iPhone and put up random facebook statuses... watch out buddy, I'm coming for you] - here's the picture I took of the little devil when he was harassing me...

I'm loving.... that I went wedding dress shopping with this sweet girl this weekend, she's going to be a BEAUTIFUL bride and I can't wait to watch her go down the aisle in November!

I'm loving.... that we're going to Medieval Times to celebrate DJ's birthday this weekend, I haven't been in forever - it's going to be hilarious and messy so much fun!

I'm loving.... my sweet pup and his snuggles

I'm loving.... being a tween and watching Make it or Break it on ABC family, I didn't realize how much I missed it until it came back on... I don't know that I'll ever "mature" to finding that stuff silly... it's just who I am.

I'm loving... The Hunger Games series, I finished the first book and am halfway through the second book, seriously, I don't want to put it down, EVER. I know, I know, I really am a tween.

I'm loving....  even though he's a colossal pain in my ass - I am so thankful that I have such a loyal and caring partner... My Danny J truly makes me so happy and really is my soulmate. I'm so thankful that he's mine and I'm his...

happy wednesday!
