snug as a bug in a rug....

...or snug as a bulldog [in my spot] on the couch....

isn't it adorable the way he curls (?) up and hides all his little limbs...
he looks like a sack of potatoes...
taking him to the vet later today - any guesses on how much he weighs now?!

Oliver "loves" Pumpkins...

there are no words to describe what happened earlier this week when Jenny brought some pumpkins over to our house.... well, maybe four words: Oliver fell in love.

enjoy - and please excuse my terrible laugh in the videos.... yes, I'm that big of a dork that is how I really laugh....

yup. we're special.
...may your day be filled with love and pumpkins...
just please don't love your pumpkin like Ollie did!

NYC Wedding (Part 2) Dinner Reception

After Donny & Cami's amazing ceremony, we sauntered over to a wine bar and had a few glasses of wine (I limited myself to two after my wino experience the past weekend) after hanging out there for an hour or so we strolled down to Lil' Frankies for their dinner reception. Again, classic and simple - and captured Donny & Cami so well... they mixed the tables up so you could meet new people and I'm pretty sure I traumatized the nice couple sitting next to us - but then I let them hold the baby and I think they liked us... bahaha - if you only knew. ANYWAYS.... the dinner was family style with a few different courses of amazing Italian food - I finally got to have calamari after being tortured by Nikki with all of her pictures of yummy calamari and very yummy!

We had a blast - maybe too much fun (nah) - anyways, I'll let you see for yourself...

clearly they knew where the troublemakers belonged (in the corner)

best buds

and then the shots began...

special....

 beautiful table decor...

such a fun environment...

yummy Italian cake (of course now I don't remember what it was)
Donny likes the cake too...

can't wait to see our dear friends again soon....
and now the next wedding we have to go to is ours.... uh oh - time to get planning....

NYC Garden Wedding Ceremony

now onto the real reason we went to NYC - so see our dear friends Donny & Cami get married... Donny & DJ have been best friends since seventh grade and I met both of them our freshman year of high school in gym class... so needless to say, we've all been old friends for a long time.

Donny & Cami met in law school in NYC and are one of the sweetest and most in love couples I've seen (that's pretty crappy grammer, sorry). Their wedding was sweet and simple - just like them, they got married in the East Village in a Community Garden and I swear - the weather was just perfect, warm and sunny - meant for a wedding...

here are the pics - enjoy!

the garden...

Donny & their adorable Romanian officiant...

here comes the bride...

so in love....

 don't we clean up nice?

DJ stealing a hug from the bride...

classic Cami...

after the ceremony we all walked a few blocks into the East Village to this cute little wine bar and had wine until the dinner reception...

they had a jazz trio playing in the street... just perfect...

pictures of the reception, coming soon!

10.27 one year ago...

late at night one year ago (okay it was the morning on 10/28 - but really, the thoughts were running through my head all of 10/27) I sent this facebook message to one of my closest friends and confidants... {aka my Danny J}...

October 28, 2009 at 1:50am
if you dont call me this week we're no longer friends

no seriously, I'm having a life-crisis and need your input

who would have known how much that message impacted my life... well as it turns out... I figured things out for myself without talking to Danny... I came to terms with the fact that the relationship I had been in for the past three years was over - not something to get into in a public forum, but I knew that I couldn't move forward without trust - 100% trust in another person... and I just didn't have it. It just wasn't right, so it hurt and I was scared - but I ended it.

the next day... DJ called and we talked for hours, he had ended his engagement the previous year so he had an idea of what I was going through and struggling with... I felt terrible that I was hurting someone who really was important to me... I also was scared - I had my future planned out and I was the one throwing a curveball and ending things - ending everything I said (and thought) I wanted for the past three years.

As always, it felt good to talk to Danny... he put me at ease and made me laugh and smile... In passing I mentioned that even though we talked fairly often it had been almost three years since we had seen each other and we started talking through maybe coming to see each other...  I mentioned coming to visit for Thanksgiving and I definitely threw him for a loop... he said he had to talk to work and that he'd get back to me [aka STALLING]... Oh Danny... gotta love him... clearly, I came to visit and everything fell into place for us - all I can say is I'm the luckiest girl on earth and I wouldn't change a thing in my life because it lead me to where I am today... with my soulmate.

NYC Scenic Shots

Here are the shots I took while we walked around NYC - I wish I could say I took more, I just really didn't.... there wasn't a lot (in actuality ANY) time that it was just me and DJ so I felt like I was constantly on the go and didn't want to hold people up by stopping and snapping - I did do that a few moments... and here they are - enjoy!

so there you have it - it was a different side of NYC than I've usually seen - no touristy stuff, just the more residential/every day New York.... in actuality - it was kinda refreshing. BUT, I think I'm going to drag DJ up there in December so we can do all that holiday stuff - I can just imagine how great NYC is during the holidays! Don't you think?

they just keep growing...

remember this post... it was when danny and I went down to Georgia to visit family and meet our brand-new nephew Max... he was just a few weeks old. Well, we were lucky enough to spend the weekend in NYC with DJ's brother and his wife (Mat & Summer) and our two adorable nephews (Max and Noah)... it was crazy how much bigger Max has gotten - he's like a whole new baby... and don't get me started on Noah - he's smarter than me, no joke. They're such amazing little people. :)

and because I know you love babies (from a far) just like me
here are some more cuuuuute pictures of our little nephews from this weekend:)

max, just being max... aka being adorable

noah, our little man....

I call this montage "why do Uncle Danny and Aunt Hita always smell like mouthwash?" yup, I'm classy... and clearly - still not ready to procreate!

I can't wait til December til we get to see these little guys again they're amazing (and of course our other niece and nephew who are equally amazing and cute) - we're the luckiest aunt and uncle out there!
